Kočího šifry písma a geovzorce
6.9.2026
Základnou matrix doskou českého maliara Václava Kočího (1981) je pulzujúci vizuálny jazyk geometrickej abstrakcie. Kočí razantne vytvára farebné iluzívne vzorce, kde intenzívne fungujú obrazové a alfabetické dáta a ich kultúrne čítanie. Vytvára rytmické polia a štruktúry, v ktorých prúdi dynamika a pohyb, vnímanie času i modelovanie vrstveného obrazového priestoru. Na základe konceptuálnych východísk prináša koncentrovanú transformáciu textových a numerických informácií do vizuálnych kódov a abstraktných polí. Programovo pracuje v sériách, kde stále permutuje novoobjavované varianty a vektory dešifrovania. Ide o farebné geovzorce (vyťaženie zo samotnej podstavy vyžarovania farebných polí), o nové vizuálne návestidlá a jasné signály čítanie obrazov. Tu prevláda jasná geometrická kostra, architektúra obrazového systému s rezkou rytmikou a hudobnou frekvenciou...
Pri prvotnej sérii Stripes išlo o horizontálne radenie jednotlivých liniek, horizontálne vibrovanie „strún“ v op-artovom štýle, ktorý sa osvedčil u Bridget Riley, či neskôr u Gerharda Richtera (Small Time Shot Away, 2008; Microcuts, 2010; The Bliss, 2011). Nasledovali ostré hrany, sýte plochy a farbisté kryštály z cyklu Alphabets (Don´t Line Your Life, 2019; 625, 2020).
Pináša black&white obrazy vybraných štylizovaných čísiel v sérií The Score (289, 2012; 308, 2013; 318, 2013), neskôr sofistikovanejšie s podkladovým rastrom a vypúšťaným niektorých liniek čísiel, či textu (Hello from New York, 2015; 404, 2015; 420, 2016; 629, 2020). Túto alfabetickú linku, kde prerážajú písmená, ich spojenia a štruktúry série Any Color You Like ( Night Blue, 2014; Any Color You Like I, 2014) rozvíja v textovom cykle nápisov a odkazov - Lettering ( Fear Eats The Soul, 2020; Boga net, 2021; Has, 2022). V aktuálnej sérii s názvom Lexikon multiplikuje vrstvenie jednotlivých písmen vybraného slova na seba a vytvára transparentné pravouhlé architektony a priestory (Credit, Opinion I, Impact; všetky 2025). Prebíja kalkul, analýza jednotlivých znakov a písmen do kompaktnej obrazovej architektúry, kde indikátorom napätia je výťažok z mikrotypografie pravouhlých grafém a nelineárneho čítania šifrovaných slov.
Napriek analytickému spôsobu myslenia prináša silnú dávku vnútorného napätia a emocionálneho náboja. Nakoniec ide o očistnú vizuálnu kúpeľ v záplave písmen, číslic a dát...

Kočí ’ s Font and Geo-Sample Encrypts

The basic matrix of the Czech painter Václav Kočí (1981) is a pulsing visual language of geometric abstraction. The coachman vividly creates colourful illustrative formulas, in which pictorial and alphabetical data and their cultural reading work intensively. It creates rhythmic fields and structures in which dynamics and motion flow, time perception, and the modelling of layered image space. On the basis of conceptual assumptions, it brings about a concentrated transformation of textual and numerical information into visual codes and abstract fields. It works in software in series, where it is still permuting the newfound variants and decryption vectors. These are colour geo-specimens (extracting from the base of the field radiations themselves), new visual signals and clear signals reading images. This is dominated by a bright geometric skeleton, the architecture of an image system with abrasive rhythms and a musical frequency.I'm sorry.
In the original Stripes series, it was the horizontal lining of the individual lines, the horizontal vibration of the ‘ string ’ in the opera style, which proved to be the case with Bridget Riley, or later Gerhard Richter (Small Time Shot Away, 2008; Microcuts, 2010; The Bliss, 2011). This was followed by sharp edges, sieves, and coloured crystals from the Alphabets (Don't Line Your Life, 2019; 625, 2020). Similarly, a more generous series of quotes works (Quote XIII, 2020; Made, 2022; Pearl Black, 2023), where the jagged, fractured areas of signal colour appear to bite each other.
The mental axis, the ideological backbone of his pictorial thinking creates a peculiar encryption - the transcription of texts into image systems. It is also about glossing over meanings, not just nodding, mysterious cryptograms. It models plastic structures that carry a vibrant, live content of alphabetical slogans, or secret messages (from pop culture messages to a strange archeism). Pinasha Black & White images of selected polished numbers in The Score series (289, 2012; 308, 2013; 318, 2013), later more sophisticated with background raster and deletion of some numbers or text lines (Hello from New York, 2015; 404, 2015; 420, 2016; 629, 2020). He develops this alphabetical line, where they break through letters, their connections and structures in the series Any Color You Like ( Night Blue, 2014; Any Color You Like I, 2014) - Lettering ( Fear Eats The Soul, 2020; Boga net, 2021; Has, 2022). In the current Lexicon series, it multiplies the individual letters of the selected word into each other and creates transparent rectangular architectures and spaces (Credit, Opinion I, Impact; all 2025). Calculus, character and letter analysis into compact image architecture, where the voltage indicator is an extract of the microtypography of rectangular graphs and non-linear reading of encrypted words.
In addition to the acrylic fields on the canvas, the use of film and, in particular, film-coating tape, which help to define sharp edges and surfaces, the compression of text and the interior image space itself, is a way of carrying the work of Václav Kočí. Following the slogan ‘ duct tape ’, he created a specific play with duct tape on the built-in square wall, the continuous rhythm of the letters of the word ‘ Uroboros ’ for the exhibition at the Ján koniarka Gallery in Trnava in the spring of 2023.
In parallel, the author also develops the line of departure from the 2-D painting area into space. These are single three-dimensional objects – spatial antennae, vertical communication poles with a text link (e.g. the Carpe diem exhibition, Jablonec nad Nisou (Galéria Kaplica, 2023), or the ‘ Spacial Cases ’ exhibition for Košice (Galéria Alfa, 2024)).
This only confirms its longer-term open path to direct communication with architecture. It is an intensive dialogue with the body of the building – bringing in new qualities of colour and dynamic geometric structures. Thus, the redefinition of space and time, the manipulation of space and time while physically acting on the viewer (Hello World!, wall paintings for the supercomputer Pavilion FIT VUT Brno, 2013; LCFT, University of T. Zlín Bat, 2014; Eva Adamova, Adamov Station, 2023; Silver Hall Jihlava, 2024, etc.).
According to William Flusser, we could metaphorically define the Kočí’ s Painting Encryption as connecting its three civilised modes of thought: Visual imagery, historical linear thinking with historical knowledge and textual transcription of scientific data and, consequently, their common post-historical linking and manipulation into a new synthetic visualisation in our telematic society. In the translation of the word, the author thus creates a new visual topography, where he maps and studies the properties of the colour fields, the elemental shape, the texture and their symbolic perception. Despite the analytical way of thinking, it brings a powerful dose of internal tension and emotional charge. After all, it's a purging visual bath in a flood of letters, digits and data.I'm sorry.
Strong solitaire Václav Kočí also confirms the development of his language against the background of the great geometric Brno scene, with names such as Pavel Rudolf (1943-2026), Petr Kvíčala (1960), Petr Veselý (1953), Milan Houser (1971), or the younger Břetislav Malý (1985), among others. In addition to this, we can add the performance and collection of geometry and minimalism of the Brno theorist and artist Jiří Valoch (1946), and finally partly the creation of the Slovak conceptual artist Monogramist T.D. (1947), who settled in Brno.
Finally, we can add his well-deserved activities in the cultural community, such as the establishment and management of the Open Studios project in Brno and Ostrava, the incubator project, and numerous exhibition activities.
